Im currently on 40mm and it looks nice.
IMO I would go no lower than 60mm Max.
The lower you go, the more problems you will get i.e. your gearbox will suffer. _________________

| Why would the gear box suffer? does it sit particularly low? |

If that is the case something like the predator 2 bodykit may be the way for you to go.
It sits fairly low to the floor so i should imagine that with the suspension drop youll appear alot lower than you actually are without risking the vitals of the car. |

I like the look of a tastefully modded car that stays true to its original stying, like my old probe pictured below, its stance was perfect, a tastfull lip and it would have been perfect.

Puts the driveshafts in to much more extreme angles, putting the diff under a lot more load, resulting in broken diff. _________________ Self-proclaimed Resident post whore! |

Cut springs are a big no no.
Any interfierence with the wheel touching anything is also a big no no and some can be funny about the height if they catch anything on their ramps.
Better still find a dodgy guy to do your mot. |

The only criteria with regards to springs is that they're sat in place in the cups correctly. Nothing wrong with cutting down springs as long as it is done correctly, simply taking a hacksaw to a spring isn't what I'm suggesting. _________________ Self-proclaimed Resident post whore! |

I learnt that the hard way unfortunatly. |

oxy acelytene welding rig would be the best thing to use.
About 1250 degrees for the hammer marks not to show. If you really want to make them look original get a graphite bin for after the heat work put it in their for 2 minuets and into an oil cooling pot for about 10 mins after.
If you have a forge knocking about id suggest use that instead of the gas though. |

the gmax springs have a much tighter coil towards one end, if you "lob off" the coils at this end, and then give the spring a bit of heat about a half coil round, and bend it so the last half of the last coil is flat, they seat perfectly.
DO NOT recommend it on standard springs tho. _________________

| No my slightly clueless buddy was gonna do it to his stock springs because i did it on some lowering ones, It took a while but i finally explained that his springs were probably 10+ years old, much softer metal and much larger distance between coils. |

I had mine on coilovers and have no idea of how much the car was lowered by but had no trouble at all at this height. It looked awesome from the front as the lip brought it down much more. _________________
