Thanks for the torque setings diagram really usefullas a check. I am in the process of changing cam belts on a Rover '97 K-Series 1.8 VVC cam belt and it uses the non automatic tensioner so MG Rover included a pillar bolt a tenson spring in the belt kit, it's the non sleeved spring. Has anyone done this work recently? After fitting the spring I find the tensioner the tensioner back plate is now a lot lower down in relation to where it was on the old Rover belt. I am using the spring to pretension exactly as the the Rover manual says. Has anyone else found this? I guess if I ignore the spring setting a push the tesnsion upward to eqactly where I marked it bfore it was loosened I am over tensioning the new belt and risking a break later one? But if it's too loose will it risk jumping a tooth and wreaking the engine?
Thank you, Doug
